I watched the movie contagion. It felt less like a movie and more like a crystal ball. It predicted events following the covid19 pandemic quite well. Although the movie was made keeping the SARS virus in mind, the virus was fictionalized as MEV1 on this movie. It was a result of a crossover event between a bat and a pig.

It starts with Gwyneth Paltrow as patient zero who contracted the disease and spreads it across the casino, the airport, and then pretty much the entire world.

Her character dies very quickly after contracting the virus - leaving little time for her husband to comprehend what had happened. It was quite tragic to watch the husband repeatedly ask the nurse when he could see his (now dead) wife.

The resulting fear, panic, lockdowns, denial, conspiracy theories, fake cures was so on point. That is exactly what we saw during the Covid19 pandemic.

Jude Law was one of my favorite characters for that. He represents Alex Jones in a satirical way. He surely gave a dark comic relief in such a disaster movie. The satire in this movie was spot on.
