This is a political post. Democracy is a system where everyone has a voice. They voice their opinion through vote. It is not the perfect system, but it is the best system so far.

Sadly, we live in dangerous times where democracy is under threat all around the world. Conditions like climate change, wealth inequality and other factors have caused the general population to lose faith in democracy and embrace authoritarianism. Clownish, ghoulish characters have taken advantage of social and economic issues to destroy democracy.

As citizens, we need to be aware of this and use our power to vote to ensure democracy is alive and functional. It sure takes work but we all, individually and collectively, need to take responsibility for that. Learn about who our candidates are. Vote in local and general elections. Vote for candidates who respect democracy.

Democracy is the light of the world. Democracy under threat at once place, is a threat to the entire system us humans have fought so hard for it.
